Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino announced the launch of a new product by the issuer of the USDT stablecoin. The developing service will become one of the key components of the firm's "futuristic ecosystem," the businessman stated.
According to him, the product will use open-source code. However, Ardoino did not go into details or provide any launch timelines.

The TON development team and the creators of the Tonkeeper wallet have implemented a new W5 smart wallet standard for crypto wallets that support the TON blockchain.
This will allow token transfers on the TON network without the need to hold Toncoin in the wallet to pay for gas fees. In other words, transaction fees for transfers in USDT or NOT can be paid with these tokens themselves.
✔️ Gas refers to the fees for operations in blockchain networks. It is a unit of measurement for the amount of computational resources required to perform a particular operation.
Typically, the native token of the blockchain (in this case, Toncoin) is used to pay for gas, and it must be held in the wallet for token transactions.
Reportedly, support for the new standard will soon be added to the TON Space and MyTonWallet wallets as well.
