Feeding the Agents: Why AI Needs Walrus BlobsThe biggest narrative of 2026 is undoubtedly AI Agents. We are moving from chatbots that talk to agents that do. But these autonomous agents face a massive bottleneck: Data Gravity. AI models are data-hungry. They need to read, write, and store massive datasets—training data, history logs, and context windows. Storing this data on high-performance blockchains like Sui or Solana is impossible; it’s too expensive. Storing it on centralized servers breaks the trust model. The Solution: The @WalrusProtocol Blob. Walrus acts as the perfect "external hard drive" for AI Agents living on the Sui blockchain. Speed: $SUI executes the logic instantly. Storage: $WAL holds the massive "Blobs" of data that the AI needs to reference. This architecture allows for "Decentralized Training." Imagine an AI model that is trained on a dataset stored as a #walrus Blob. The provenance of that data is verifiable on-chain, ensuring the AI isn't hallucinating or being fed corrupted info. As the AI economy grows to trillions of dollars, the protocol that holds the data (the Blobs) will capture immense value. Walrus is positioning itself to be that layer.

The Solution: The @Walrus 🦭/acc Blob.
Walrus acts as the perfect "external hard drive" for AI Agents living on the Sui blockchain.

Walrus Sites: How Blobs Are Killing AWS DependencyWe need to talk about the "Dirty Secret" of Web3. You might be interacting with a decentralized smart contract on Uniswap or Aave, but the interface you are using (the website itself) is likely hosted on a centralized server like AWS or Google Cloud. If Amazon decides to shut that server down, the dApp goes dark. This is not true decentralization. This is a vulnerability. Enter @WalrusProtocol Walrus Sites. Walrus uses "Blobs" to store not just images or text, but entire websites (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) directly on-chain. Because Blobs are cheap and efficient, developers can now host their entire frontend infrastructure on the Walrus network. This creates "Unstoppable Apps." With #walrus Sites, there is no central server to hack, no AWS bill to pay, and no CEO who can de-platform you. The website exists as long as the blockchain exists. This is the final piece of the puzzle for a truly censorship-resistant internet. When you buy $WAL , you aren't just buying a storage token; you are buying the infrastructure for the next generation of the Unstoppable Web.

Why "Blobs" Are Superior to Files: The Tech Behind WalrusThe "Blob" Revolution & The Magic of Red Stuff In the world of decentralized storage, not all data is created equal. Most legacy protocols treat storage like a standard file system—clunky, expensive, and slow. Enter the Walrus Blob. A "Blob" (Binary Large Object) is the fundamental unit of storage on the Walrus Protocol. But what makes it revolutionary isn't just that it stores data; it's how it stores it. Walrus utilizes a breakthrough technology called "Red Stuff" (2D Erasure Coding). Here is the problem with current competitors: To ensure your file isn't lost, they often have to replicate it dozens of times across the network. This "replication factor" is expensive. If you store 1GB, the network might actually be storing 25GB of redundant copies. That cost gets passed to you. The $WAL Advantage: Thanks to Red Stuff, @WalrusProtocol Blobs achieve extreme robustness with a fraction of the overhead. The protocol breaks the Blob into mathematical shards. Even if a significant chunk of the network (up to 2/3rds!) goes offline or acts maliciously, your Blob can still be perfectly reconstructed. This means #walrus offers standard storage prices that are significantly cheaper than competitors while maintaining higher security assurances. In the crypto game, efficiency always wins in the long run.

$WAL The Secret Sauce Behind the Blob Why is Walrus different? It's not just "another storage coin." It uses a breakthrough technology called Red Stuff (2D Erasure Coding). Here is the math that wins the war: Legacy Storage (Filecoin): Often requires ~25x replication (making 25 copies) to guarantee security. That is expensive. @WalrusProtocol Blobs: Thanks to Red Stuff, Walrus only needs ~5x replication. Result? Same security, 80% less storage overhead. Lower overhead means lower fees for users and higher margins for node operators. The "Blob" isn't just data; it's pure mathematical efficiency. #walrus

@WalrusProtocol Token Unlock is one of the biggest events for any project as I have said this before, after the unlock a new chapter begins, a new price discovery happens, new investors hop-in and many more new things happen. 632.7M $WAL token will be unlocked which is 12.5% of the total supply which currently worth $80.92M. The token price may have a major shift within few weeks, what do you think will VCs let the price shrink? No, they will play their OTC game the whales will buy these unlocked bags privately and probably we will not see a big price correction but on blockchain nothing goes unnoticed we can see their activities On-Chain. Let's wait and see what happens I am excited to see their moves 😁. #walrus

@WalrusProtocol is backed by the some of the most notable VC's in the crypto industry. They have raised $140M combined in Private Token Sale. #Walrus has one of the deepest pocket in terms of investor backings. This shows VC's confidence in the project and future growth. VC's allocations are in lock-up period which is very important for the token valuation. Only 7% is owned by them which is gonna unlock in March 2026. This will be a very important event for the project as we may see a new price discovery their move may not impact the token price with a very huge correction but it will show their confidence in the project which can't be overlooked by the long term investors. Lets have a look at Decentralized Storage Infrastructure (DSI) projects other than @WalrusProtocol for the sake of understanding I have clubbed them into groups according to the market cap but before that I am gonna give you an overview about how big the industry is, the total market cap of the DSI sector is valued at 7.4B - 9B projections to reach $61.2 billion by 2034. Top tokens see a daily volume of $50 million to $500 million in total depending on the market condition. FDV is often 3x-10x higher than current market cap due to long vesting schedules. Hope this gives you a rough estimated valuation of the sector. The Big Three @Filecoin This project is very interesting to study its current market cap hovers around $900M - $1.1B with an average price of 1.3$-1.5$ per token. The ATH of the token was 237$ on April 01 2021 🤔. You must be thinking why it lost ~99% well find the answer and reply me in the comment there is a learning. This project is based on the IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) technology it handles how files are addressed and moved instead of using a URL (location-based), it uses a Content ID (hash-based) to find data no matter where it is stored. #Filecoin is the incentive layer (the money) that pays people to keep the map working like $WAL is for #Walrus . @BitTorrent_Official The Current market cap of this project is approximately $412M and ATH price 0.000003054$ (for the new $BTTC token) on January 18 2022 the token ATH may differ as it had token split. Similar to the $FIL token this token has also lost ~90% of its value. The project faced significant challenges like supply shock, token split, free rider problem (google it), Centralization, etc. BitTorrent relies on Legacy P2P mixed with blockchain. @ArweaveEco It is currently trading around 3.53$ with a market cap of ~$231M its ATH was $90.94 on November 5 2021. It replaces traditional blockchains with a blockweave structure where blocks link to both a predecessor and a random historical recall block utilizing a Proof of Access consensus that forces miners to store data.

WALRUS: AN EFFICIENT DECENTRALIZED STORAGE NETWORK by The MystenLabs Team I was studying the whitepaper of #walrus and find it very impressive and forced me to write about it also it is on creatorpad task. I will summarize the key takeaways from the whitepaper which I found attractive in later posts I am gonna compare it with other decentralized storage system and the important usage of the decentralized storage system in our daily life and crypto and further discuss other important takeaways. The CORE INNOVATION is THE RED STUFF (The Heart of the @WalrusProtocol ). Firstly what matters in the decentralized storage system the most? Security and privacy, Right? $WAL has introduced a 2D erasure coding protocol instead of making copies of the data it uses 2D erasure coding which is cheap compared to traditional storage system protocol and safer. It fragments data into small pieces called slivers and distribute it globally so no node holds the complete file this plays an important role in privacy. If a single node holds the complete file than it is highly likely that during a compromistaion our data privacy and security can be breached. You know what fascinating about the protocol is the part which I like the most is that even if 2/3rd of the node which have a fragmented data file gets malicious or offline the protocol can reconstruct the original data. Most of the decentralized storage system faces challenge in storing data as the system deletes the existing stored data to save space. So $WAL is the first protocol to use asynchronous networks to overcome this challenge. This prevents adversaries from gaining access during network delays. Network delays generally help the adversaries to pass the verification system without actually processing the data. @WalrusProtocol has end-to-end encryption with storage layer for encypted blobs with authenticity that If a single bit is changed it won't verify the node. As it is on Sui ecosystem it uses Proof-of-stake (dPOS) to penalize malicious node. With this security protocol it serves as a major upgrade in crypto.
