He Lost 61 Bitcoin, 12 Years Later, They’re Worth $5M
A British man named Chris lost access to 61 $BTC in 2014 after the crypto exchange Intersango shut down.
Back then, his Bitcoin was worth only around $5,400. Today, the same coins are worth roughly $5 million.
After months of working with lawyers, Chris finally recovered access to his funds. He now plans to sell some of his $BTC to buy a bigger home for his family, while keeping the rest as a long-term investment.
$ENA is up around 20% after Ethena announced major changes to its token model.
The Ethena Foundation bought locked ENA from several early investors who had sold tokens over the past nine months. This removes part of the future selling pressure from those investors.
Ethena also proposed using 95% of the net revenue received from its businesses to buy back ENA once USDe reaches the required supply level.
The revenue comes from products such as USDe savings, stablecoins and other Ethena services.
CZ believes Bitcoin could eventually become more important than gold, with the gap between the two assets potentially shrinking sharply during the next bull market.
Gold’s total market value is currently around 10× larger than Bitcoin’s. However, CZ believes $BTC could reach $1 million much sooner than 25 years from now.
Researchers at StarkWare have developed a way to make Bitcoin transactions more resistant to potential attacks from quantum computers, without changing the Bitcoin network.
The method uses features that already exist in Bitcoin. For now, it requires a lot of computing power, so it is not ready for widespread use.
Still, the research suggests that Bitcoin could potentially be protected from quantum threats before any major protocol upgrade is needed.
Bernstein analysts see $BTC reaching $125K by the end of 2026 and $150K by mid-2027.
For 2029, their main target is around $300K. But in a strong bull market, they believe $BTC could go as high as $500K. And they don’t stop there: Bernstein has a long-term target of $1 million by 2033.
Their main argument is simple: government debt keeps growing, while fiat currencies can lose value over time. This could push more big investors toward Bitcoin as a scarce asset.
Nvidia Employees Are Getting Rich From Their Stock
A recent internal survey of more than 3,000 Nvidia employees found that around 76–78% of respondents have a net worth above $1 million. Nearly half reportedly have more than $25 million.
A big reason is $NVDA stock. Many employees received company shares as part of their compensation and were also able to buy shares at a discount. As Nvidia’s stock price surged, those shares became worth millions.
CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju now thinks Bitcoin’s bearish phase may be coming to an end.
The Bull-Bear Market Cycle Indicator has moved out of the bearish zone, suggesting that market conditions are starting to improve. It’s a positive sign, but we still need to see strong demand and sustained price growth for confirmation.
$24M Crypto Ponzi Scheme Could Lead to 280 Years in Prison
A U.S. jury has found the owner of Profit Connect guilty of running a $24 million crypto Ponzi scheme that affected at least 400 investors.
He promised returns of up to 30% per year, claiming they came from AI, crypto mining, and powerful computers. In reality, money from new investors was used to pay earlier investors, cover company expenses, and fund personal spending.
He was convicted on 15 charges, including fraud and money laundering. He could face up to 280 years in prison, with the final sentence expected on November 30.
A New York Times contributor has suggested a rather unusual idea for dealing with the U.S. national debt: bringing back “amargi,” an ancient Sumerian practice of canceling debts.
Around 2400 BC, Sumerian rulers used debt cancellations when debt became too heavy for the economy. Basically: too much debt → cancel it → start again.
Could this be the early stage of a new altcoin season?
After Trump’s latest crypto-related statements, altcoins saw a strong move. From August 19 to 22, the total altcoin market cap jumped by more than 24%, adding around $215B. Total2, which tracks the crypto market excluding Bitcoin, also moved back above $1T. Mid- and small-cap coins were among the strongest performers.
Another important signal: 56% of altcoins are now trading above their 200-day moving average, compared with only 15–20% before. CryptoQuant analysts see this as a possible sign that the market is entering a new phase.
I’ve seen a lot of people online pointing out the similarities between August 2022 and August 2026. The price action looks surprisingly similar, strong green candles, short positions getting squeezed, and sentiment turning bullish very quickly.
Of course, history doesn’t have to repeat itself. We could continue higher from here, but I wouldn’t assume this upside is guaranteed. Crypto can change direction very quickly.
Bitcoin led the move, but Ethereum is also seeing strong demand. On Aug. 20 alone, $BTC and $ETH ETFs attracted $825.8M, with BlackRock leading the flows in both markets. Institutions are buying. 👀 #Macro Insights#
I’ve seen a lot of people asking what they should buy. If it were my money, I’d build something like this: BTC — 30% ETH — 23% Stablecoins — 22% $HYPE — 20% $SOL — 5% I’d rather keep a balanced portfolio than put everything into one coin. BTC and ETH give me the core exposure, stables keep some capital ready, while HYPE + SOL add more upside potential.
