I used to dismiss Babylon because the Bitcoin yield looked too small.
If I'm taking extra risk, I thought the reward should be much higher. That mindset kept me from looking any deeper. Then I realized I was judging the wrong product.
The real product isn't the yield. It's the security.
Bitcoin has spent years becoming the most trusted blockchain in crypto. Babylon takes that trust and lets it help secure Proof-of-Stake networks without asking BTC holders to wrap their coins or move them through a traditional bridge. That changes the conversation completely.
Once I looked at it from that angle, the yield started feeling more like a bonus than the main attraction. If Bitcoin security becomes infrastructure that other ecosystems rely on, the long-term value comes from demand for that security service, not from chasing the highest percentage return.
As someone who follows infrastructure projects more than short-term narratives, this shifted my perspective. I used to compare Babylon with other yield opportunities. Now I compare it with security providers. Those are two completely different markets.
Crypto has no shortage of assets competing for attention. What it still lacks is infrastructure that makes the entire ecosystem stronger. That's why I've been spending more time understanding Babylon instead of only looking at the yield.
Do you think Bitcoin's future is mainly as digital gold, or could security become its most valuable export?
