Most people think Bitcoin's next chapter is about earning yield. I think that's too small.
The bigger opportunity is Bitcoin becoming the trust layer that Proof-of-Stake ecosystems rely on.
One thing I've noticed while reading more infrastructure projects is that security is still fragmented. Every new PoS chain has to build confidence from zero, and that confidence often depends on the value of its own token. When markets weaken, the economic cost of attacking the network weakens too. That's a structural challenge, not just a market cycle.
Bitcoin changes that equation.
If Bitcoin can provide economic security without forcing users to wrap, bridge, or surrender custody of their BTC, it becomes much more than a passive asset. It becomes shared infrastructure. Instead of competing with every PoS network, Bitcoin could strengthen them by lending its credibility and economic weight while remaining independent.
That's the part I find most interesting. The long-term value isn't just another source of BTC yield. It's the possibility that Bitcoin becomes the foundation other blockchains choose to build their security on.
If that model continues to gain adoption, the conversation around Bitcoin may gradually shift from "digital gold" to "the trust layer of crypto."
That's a much bigger narrative than yield alone.
Do you think Bitcoin's future is mainly as a store of value, or could becoming the security backbone for PoS chains be its biggest evolution?
