The latest economic data reveals that the Producer Price Index experienced a year-over-year climb of 5.5 percent in June. This result is noticeably softer than the anticipated 6.2 percent increase. In addition, the previously reported growth rate was revised downward from 6.5 percent to an updated 6 percent. Looking at the core Producer Price Index, the metric advanced by 4.7 percent. This core figure also came in below expectations, trailing both the forecasted 5.1 percent and the prior reading of 4.9 percent.
