According to PANews, the Trump administration is preparing a series of executive actions aimed at accelerating the expansion of artificial intelligence in the United States. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that the proposed measures include facilitating the connection of power generation projects to the grid and providing federal land for the construction of data centers essential for AI technology expansion.

Data from power industry consultancy Grid Strategies indicates that U.S. power demand is expected to grow at five times the rate predicted in 2022 between 2024 and 2029. A report by Deloitte suggests that the power demand for AI data centers could increase by more than 30 times by 2035.

The government is considering prioritizing mature power generation projects in the grid connection queue. The executive order will also authorize the use of land under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense and the Department of the Interior for project construction. Additionally, the administration is contemplating streamlining data center permits by establishing a national Clean Water Act permit, eliminating the need for companies to apply for permits state by state.

Furthermore, the White House is considering designating July 23 as "AI Action Day."
