Bitcoin Fails to Catch a Bid as Precious Metals Enter Christmas Price Discovery
Bitcoin’s sideways trading style is sparking increasingly extreme price predictions this Christmas.
The holiday period is just days away, but how crypto markets may greet the end of the year is anyone’s guess.
With that, calls for a last-minute surge contrast with expectations of $70,000 or lower — even as analysis argues that the bulk of the sell-off is over.
That may not be the case for the US, where the Coinbase Premium shows that bears are still firmly in control when it comes to Bitcoin. The Bull-Bear Market Cycle Indicator being in negative territory along with it reinforces the struggle that hodlers currently face.

Parlamentares dos Estados Unidos avançaram com uma nova proposta para tornar o uso diário de criptomoedas menos oneroso do ponto de vista fiscal. Segundo a Cointelegraph, os deputados Max Miller, de Ohio, e Steven Horsford, de Nevada, apresentaram um rascunho que altera o Código Tributário americano para acompanhar a crescente adoção de ativos digitais como meio de pagamento.

O texto prevê a isenção de imposto sobre ganhos de capital em operações com stablecoins de pequeno valor. Pela proposta, transações de até US$ 200 não exigiriam o reconhecimento de lucro ou prejuízo, desde que a stablecoin seja emitida por uma entidade autorizada pela Lei GENIUS, esteja atrelada ao dólar e mantenha estabilidade próxima de US$ 1. Para evitar distorções, o projeto exclui corretores e dealers do benefício e preserva o poder do Tesouro de criar regras contra abusos e exigir relatórios.

A iniciativa também busca resolver o problema da chamada “renda fantasma” gerada por staking e mineração. O rascunho permite que a tributação dessas recompensas seja adiada por até cinco anos, em vez de ocorrer imediatamente no momento do recebimento. A medida é apresentada como um meio-termo entre a cobrança imediata e o adiamento total até a venda dos ativos. Além disso, o texto estende regras já existentes para empréstimos de valores mobiliários a certos empréstimos de criptoativos, aplica normas de venda a descoberto a criptos com alta liquidez e autoriza comerciantes a optar pela contabilidade a valor de mercado para ativos digitais. Em paralelo, a Blockchain Association enviou uma carta ao Comitê Bancário do Senado dos EUA, com o apoio de mais de 125 empresas e entidades do setor.
