Boundless is a universal zero-knowledge protocol designed to make blockchains internet-scale. Its innovative incentive mechanism, Proof of Verifiable Work (PoVW), along with its native token ZKC, rewards prover nodes for generating proofs that power L1s, rollups, bridges, and applications across multiple ecosystems. The Opportunity
Boundless is less than two weeks old, meaning early provers face minimal competition and can capture significantly higher rewards than will be possible as the network grows.

From Mining to Proving
Similar to how Bitcoin miners converted electricity and hardware into digital gold, Boundless allows provers to generate zero-knowledge proofs instead of hashes. Instead of block rewards, provers earn epoch rewards. Every proof submitted contributes to the security and scalability of blockchains, so GPUs are not running redundant work but actively powering a verifiable internet while earning financial rewards.

PoW vs PoVW
Provers earn rewards through two streams:

Mining
Boundless calculates rewards based on the actual work your GPUs perform, paid proportionally each epoch (roughly every two days). PoVW rewards are determined as the lesser of:

Your relative share of proven cycles, or

Your active staked ZKC divided by 15

This ensures rewards scale fairly with both compute and stake. Active provers consistently earn more than passive stakers. During the first two weeks of launch, provers could earn up to 6.66% of their stake per epoch, far exceeding passive staking rewards. ZKC inflation is capped at 7% in the first year, and actual issuance is likely lower while provers remain under-staked. As the network matures, the reward formula will shift toward relative stake share to stabilize emissions while maintaining competitive rewards.

Market Fees
Provers also earn ETH from market demand. Boundless uses a reverse Dutch auction mechanism, where provers lock in orders only after prices rise. When proving capacity is scarce, fees increase. In the first week, provers earned 7.2 ETH in fees in addition to PoVW rewards.

Why Now Is the Time to Prove
Boundless is still in its early growth phase, so competition is low and yields are high. Early participation allows provers to establish their position while emissions and market fees are abundant.

The Optimal Strategy
Rewards are capped by both stake and GPU output. A prover cannot earn more than 1/15 of their staked rewards per epoch. Best practices include:

By covering costs with market fees and compounding rewards, provers maximize both near-term earnings and long-term share of the proving economy.
