Applied DNA Sciences Raises $58M for BNB Treasury Strategy

Applied DNA Sciences (APDN) has announced plans to raise up to $58 million to start a new digital asset treasury strategy focused on BNB, the main token of the Binance blockchain.

The company has already secured $27 million in cash, stablecoins, and OBNB Trust units. An additional $31 million may come later through warrant exercises. The deal is expected to close around October 1, 2025.

To highlight its new focus, the company plans to change its ticker symbol to BNBX. Alongside this move, Clay Shorrock has been named the new CEO, while former CEO Judy Murrah will remain as chair of the board.

Applied DNA also signed a five-year deal with Cypress LLC for managing its digital assets, with a 1.25% annual fee and a 10% incentive fee. It also hired Cypress Management LLC as a strategic advisor at $60,000 per month.

The company brought on high-profile advisors, including Anthony Scaramucci (SkyBridge Capital founder) as capital markets advisor, Patrick Horsman as Chief Investment Officer, and Josh Kruger as a nominee for board chairman.

The fundraising includes over 4.7 million shares of stock and 3.3 million prefunded warrants. Warrants are priced at $3.82 each and valid for five years. Lucid Capital Markets acted as the sole placement agent.

Applied DNA’s main business is producing nucleic acid solutions for the biopharma and diagnostics industries through its subsidiary LineaRx Inc.

Reliance Global Group Buys Bitcoin

Reliance Global Group (RELI) has bought Bitcoin for the first time as part of its new digital asset plan. This is now the company’s biggest investment in cryptocurrency.

Earlier this month, Reliance also purchased Ethereum and Cardano. With Bitcoin, the company now holds three major cryptocurrencies in its treasury.

The company said it sees Bitcoin as a store of value, not just a risky investment. Reliance believes Bitcoin is strong because of its limited supply of 21 million coins, high security, and wide use by big institutions. In 2024, the Bitcoin network processed about $19 trillion in transactions — double the year before.

Reliance mainly works in insurance and financial services through platforms like RELI Exchange and 5MinuteInsure.com. By adding Bitcoin, the company wants to diversify its assets and protect itself against inflation and currency risks.

Reliance also said it will follow all regulations, keep clear records, and store its digital assets safely.
