A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with a brazen robbery orchestrated under the pretense of a virtual currency transaction. SBS News reports the Yongin Seobu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province is investigating the incident, which saw the suspect, identified as "A," and an accomplice allegedly lure a cryptocurrency trader to a meeting. The victim, who had been actively trading coins online, was targeted. "A" and the accomplice reportedly robbed the victim of a bag containing 70 million won during what was supposed to be a legitimate coin transaction. Police are continuing their investigation and are actively searching for the accomplice. The rise in cryptocurrency trading has unfortunately also led to an increase in related crimes.
