According to PANews, Bo Hines, the Executive Director of U.S. President Donald Trump's Digital Asset Advisory Board, declined to disclose the exact number of bitcoins held by the U.S. government during a recent podcast. Reports suggest that the actual holdings might be significantly lower than the 200,000 bitcoins previously estimated by Trump's cryptocurrency advisor, David Sacks, with current estimates at approximately 29,000 bitcoins.
Hines stated that he could not discuss specific figures at this time but confirmed that the government plans to increase its bitcoin holdings through a 'budget-neutral' approach. It is important to note that due to differences in asset classification, only bitcoins that have completed judicial procedures can be counted as government assets, while those under seizure remain legally uncertain.
