Stellar’s been around for a while as one of the original cryptos, but its mission hasn’t changed: fast, low cost payments for the people who need it most —> developing countries, people without bank accounts, cross border remittances that don’t drain in fees.

Same origin story, different path.
$XRP works with banks while
$XLM works with people. Some say they’re rivals and I’m sure the XRP crowd isn’t exactly cheering for XLM, but to me, they complement each other. They’re attacking the same problem from opposite ends and neither will replace the other. If anything, it’s a case of keep your enemies closer.

🔹𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 with IBM, MoneyGram and Flutterwave. Actual cross border payments in emerging markets.
🔹𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲. USDC runs on Stellar and with the US stablecoin bill in progress, this is very significant. It also connects to Mastercard and Visa through Tala, Circle and Transak, letting users spend USDC at 70M+ merchants or cash out to fiat in 160+ countries.
🔹𝐔𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐍 to deliver aid directly to people that need it most.
🔹Backed by Franklin Templeton for tokenised US government money funds. Real institutional trust.
🔹𝐈𝐒𝐎 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟐𝟐 compliant. Meaning it already speaks the same language as banks.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐈𝐒𝐎 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟐𝟐?
It’s the new messaging standard for global finance. Cleaner data, faster processing. Banks everywhere are upgrading to it. Stellar being compliant means it can plug into that system seamlessly. Other cryptos that are compliant include XRP QUANT ALGO IOTA.

In 2024, Stellar’s CEO joined Anchorage at a U.S. congressional hearing to discuss blockchain’s role in the financial system. It wasn’t just about compliance, it was about shaping how finance evolves.

$XLM has lagged during the hype cycles, but that’s not a bad thing. It’s avoided the pump and dump noise, which means price is still driven by fundamentals. If adoption keeps growing around aid, stablecoins or CBDCs, there’s serious upside. A return to the $0.73 high would be easy. In a strong market, I see it surpassing $1. Long term, if Stellar locks into real financial plumbing, price will follow.
Stellar could make it to the top 5, but it lacks that retail hype. It’s not sexy enough yet. The use case is there though, so top 10 is realistic in my opinion.
