Why Was Surah Kausar Revealed?

This is what occurred:

Encountering Resistance: The Prophet and his followers were met with ridicule and rejection by certain individuals in Mecca. These individuals would go as far as labelling him “Abtar,” translating to “cut off” or “without heirs,” due to the premature death of his sons.

A Message of Consolation: During this challenging situation, Surah Kausar came as a comforting message from Allah. It reassured the Prophet of the importance of his mission and promised abundant blessings from Allah, despite the obstacles.

A Source of Support: The Surah encouraged the Prophet and his followers to remain firm in their beliefs and have faith in Allah’s guidance. It wasn’t about the quantity of offspring, but the enduring influence of the Prophet’s teachings.

Although Surah Kausar is about blessings and abundance, it was revealed during a difficult period to provide solace and support to the Prophet and the early Muslims.

إِنَّا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ الْكَوْثَرَ 
English Translation:
Indeed, We have granted you
فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ 
English Translation:
Therefore, pray to your Lord and sacrifice. 
إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ الْأَبْتَرُ
English Translation:
Indeed, your enemy is the one cut off.
