As the I.R.I.S. launch heats up, we expect misleading assets to emerge.
Do not buy, trade, or interact with any token claiming to be I.R.I.S.
Only engage once the verified contract is listed on Virtuals Protocol or shared directly by the protocol or its core contributors.
We’ve already detected unverified I.R.I.S. tokens being airdropped. To protect Virgens and reduce gas costs, the official I.R.I.S. airdrop will be claimable directly through our website.
We also recommend keeping a small amount of ETH in your wallet to cover gas fees when interacting with the verified agent token.
If it’s not visible on Virtuals Protocol, it’s not real.
A project has recently launched on Virtuals that closely replicates the branding and naming of the original I.R.I.S. launch. Some Virgens have mistakenly bid Points and $VIRTUAL on this project.
As a permissionless and decentralized platform, Virtuals Protocol does not censor or remove projects unless they violate fundamental terms. However, given the rise of new participants and in light of recent confusion, we are issuing a one-time full Points refund to wallets that bid on the duplicate I.R.I.S. project.
Please note: •Only Points will be refunded. •$VIRTUAL will not be refunded, as it is difficult to determine transaction intent with precision.
We strongly advise all Virgens to DYOR (Do Your Own Research) before participating in any launch. Always verify project details through official sources, and stay vigilant.
Virtuals will continue to support a fair, open launch environment while taking selective measures to protect ecosystem trust.

Genesis Update: Bug Fix & Reminder on Agent Authenticity
- Virgens affected by the $WBUG unlock extension bug have been removed from TP Cooldown and compensated as of last night.
- As a permissionless platform, any project can launch through Genesis. But that also means some may mimic past hackathon entries or known agent names. Always DYOR: a familiar name doesn’t guarantee it’s from the original creator. If unsure, check official posts or ask in the community. Stay SAFU.
Genesis Update: Claim Feature Back Online The site is now back online and fully operational. Virgens can view their claimable amounts, and all unused Points and $VIRTUAL have been refunded.
Refunds and Adjustments Completed: A previous glitch caused some wallets to receive excess Points, which were then used to over-pledge. The surplus has been clawed back, and all pledges have been recalibrated to reflect accurate balances. Claimable tokens are now fully aligned with corrected data.
Understanding Allocation Sizes: Certain Genesis launches saw participation from over 9,000 wallets. Allocations are proportional, the more Points you pledged, the more allocation you receive. If your claim feels smaller than expected, it’s not an error, but the outcome of a highly competitive pool with broad participation.
We’ll continue to monitor the experience and make improvements to ensure Genesis remains fair, consistent, and transparent.
Genesis Update: Point System Sync A recent glitch caused temporary discrepancies in Genesis Point balances for a subset of wallets. This issue has now been resolved.
Point Sync Completed: All impacted balances have been updated to reflect accurate point states. The system is now operating as intended.
Pledge Usage Adjustments Underway: Some wallets pledged into Genesis projects using the temporary imbalance. Refunds and adjustments are in progress to ensure fair alignment.
Bug Bounty Compensated: We’ve issued rewards to community members who responsibly flagged the issue. Your vigilance helps strengthen the protocol.
Our priority remains maintaining fairness, clarity, and integrity in Genesis. We’ll continue to refine the system and share further updates as adjustments complete.
Genesis Update: Points Distributed and Dust-Level Cooldown Adjustment
1. Daily points have been distributed for May 27, 2025. Thank you for your patience.
2. TP Cooldown Adjustment for Dust-Level Sells: We identified a small number of edge cases where wallets unintentionally sold a negligible amount, without any intent to manipulate or exploit the system, but were still placed under TP Cooldown.
To prevent disproportionate penalties, TP cooldowns for these wallets have been lifted and a small one-time compensation will be issued. No action is required.
We’re always listening, reviewing feedback, and doing our best to make adjustments that are fair and transparent. Thank you for your continued trust and for building the Society of AI Agents with us.
Due to high demand, we’re still working through the Bizzy launch. Big thanks to the @base team for jumping in to help. We appreciate everyone’s patience and will share an update as soon as claiming is live.
Genesis Update: Holding Is Over. Agent Staking Is Now Live.
The era of passive holding is ending. Staking is now the standard for earning points in the Virtuals ecosystem.
Switch Over Period Ends Thursday, May 22 at 3 PM GMT+8:
Agent staking is live. You now have until Thursday, May 22 at 3 PM GMT+8 to move your agent tokens into staking contracts. After that, only staked agent tokens will be eligible to earn points.
Eligible contracts include: - Virtuals-issued staking contracts - Whitelisted contracts with a 14-day unstaking cooldown
We’ll confirm publicly once staking-only eligibility goes into effect.
Staking Contracts Are Rolling Out Today:
We’ve identified approximately 70 projects (from both Genesis and Standard launches) that are going live with staking contracts today.
Virgens can now stake their agent tokens and begin earning points.
If your project launched but doesn’t yet have staking: - Reach out to us - We’ll support getting your staking contract live.
You can view the full list of eligible agents with staking enabled on the Points page.
Enforcement Rules: - After May 22 at 3 PM GMT+8, only staked agent tokens will earn points - Whitelisted contracts must include a 14-day unstaking cooldown - Projects with custom contracts have 2 weeks to migrate or adjust to meet staking requirements
We’re scaling trust, aligning rewards with commitment, and closing passive farming gaps.
