That, if they want, they can disappear with the money, close the project or make any changes that leave you high and dry, with a loss. It's happened before, and it wouldn't be new.
Now, when we talk about Bitcoin, the story is different. Bitcoin has no owner, no central office, no one dictating the rules or pulling the rug out from under it. It's a solid, ethical and moral project. It was created to be decentralized, to give power back to the people, without intermediaries. To this day, it's the only currency that remains true to this purpose.
If you want something truly reliable, that doesn't depend on anyone to exist, the answer is clear: it's Bitcoin. The rest? Well, I would think twice before betting that much.
