The market cap reflects the total value of a cryptocurrency in circulation. It is a key indicator for comparing the size of different crypto projects.
📊 How is it calculated?
Market Cap = Current price × Amount of coins in circulation
🧠 Practical example:
If XRP costs $2 USD and there are 50 billion XRP in circulation:
Market Cap = 2 × 50,000,000,000 = $100 billion
The higher the market cap, the more established a cryptocurrency tends to be.
3️⃣ Holders
Analyze who owns the cryptocurrency:
Are they mainly institutional or retail investors?
What percentage do the “whales” have? How distributed is it?
A balanced distribution between institutional and retail holders can be a sign of trust and growing adoption.

From my analysis, XRP (Ripple Labs) stands out as one of the cryptocurrencies that best meets these criteria:
It has solid fundamentals as a means of cross-border payment.
It has a high market cap, demonstrating market confidence.
Its base of holders includes both institutions and individual investors.

The situation with Hyperliquid has confirmed that decentralized, on-chain exchanges can be manipulated and intervened by humans, shattering the beautiful fantasy.
The narrative of decentralization has collapsed, and one might consider positioning short positions. Tonight, a whale is opening a jelly hedge position on Hyperliquid, with someone artificially inflating the coin price causing short positions to get liquidated while long positions absorb the risk fund.
A common response is for the exchange to recognize losses, delist and fix the vulnerabilities, but Hyperliquid discovered this bug two weeks ago and has yet to fix it, forcibly closing positions without compensation and settling at a high price.
The ability to intervene manually, delist, and freeze accounts makes this on-chain exchange no different from a centralized one. Once thought to be formidable, Hyperliquid now appears to be a paper tiger. The expectations for decentralization have been dashed, and it may be powerless to fix the bug.
