Day 6 of Social Mining with Port3

Thinking back to the failure of the Magnet chain —

Tech founder 0xMAX tried to simulate decentralization by running 4 RPCs on a single server.

Eventually, the server ran out of memory, and ledger data was lost.

A painful but valuable lesson:

Decentralization isn't just a label — it's architecture, resilience, and hard work.

This made me appreciate real decentralization even more.

Today’s Thoughts

Hi, I was one of the early supporters of the Magnet chain project — one of the three original contributors. I contributed 100 USDT to help fund the chain’s initial infrastructure and support its development.

Unfortunately, the project was shut down due to a lack of disk expansion, which led to full storage, node failure, and eventually the loss of the ledger data. I attempted to request a refund from 0xMAX, the project builder, but he refused and even blocked me.

I would like to retain my identity and involvement in the project — I don’t want this experience to end in vain.😫

That said… in hindsight, joining Port3’s community mining was the smarter move — at least things are active, the team is responsive, and there’s a clear path forward. Maybe not all experiments are worth the cost, but they do teach valuable lessons.

🌐 First Meet with Port3 Social Mining 🚀

Just had my first experience with Port3 Social Mining, and I have to say—this is more than just a Web3 task platform but also my original step.

As someone with a background in computer science and currently exploring both blockchain development and decentralized finance (DeFi), I've been looking for a way to engage with projects, build on-chain reputation, and understand how Web3 identities evolve.

Port3 allows you to:
- Connect your social and wallet (Web2 + Web3)
- Complete social & community tasks
- Earn points, tokens, and even whitelist spots
- Most importantly—accumulate a decentralized reputation
It feels like a bridge between real contribution and recognition in Web3 communities.

🔍 For now, I'm observing how their system works, testing out a few tasks, and thinking about how such models can be expanded—or even improved with AI.

🤓 For me, I'm also the greenhand in social mining that is totally new model to me. Maybe I'll mix it with airdrop in terms of the similar actions.
