Lesson Learned: Never Sell in an Uptrend

Tried to short BTC while it was clearly in an uptrend.
What did I expect? A miracle?

Market was giving higher highs, MA lines were aligned bullish,
and yet—I went against the trend.

Result?

Hit stop loss

Watched price shoot up

Learned the hard way

Note to self:
Don’t fight the trend.
Ride it.

Wait for confirmation

Follow structure

They say “trend is your friend” – and guess what? I betrayed my best friend.
On May 8th, while BTC was clearly in a strong uptrend, I made the classic rookie mistake:
I looked at a few red candles and opened a short position near $100,900 – hoping for a reversal.
I ignored the rising MA(7), the strong green momentum, and higher highs forming one after another.
Instead of riding the wave, I tried to stand against it.
Entry: Short at $100,900
Stop Loss: $101,700 (hit within minutes!)
Loss: -18 USDT
Honestly, it hurt. Not the loss, but the fact that I knew better – but didn’t act better.
Lesson learned:
Never short an uptrend unless there's a clear breakdown.
Respect the trend. Respect your strategy. Trade with logic, not ego.
Thanks Binance for giving us this platform to reflect, share, and grow. I’m not perfect, but I’m progressing.
