🚨 Bitcoin Whale Dumps 24,000 $BTC – Market Flash Crash
Over the weekend, Bitcoin plunged after a whale sold 24,000 BTC worth $2.7B, sending prices down by $4,000 in minutes to a low near $110.5K. Despite the massive sell-off, the entity still holds 152,874 BTC valued at $17B.
On-chain analyst Sani reported the whale had held these coins untouched for 5+ years before moving them to Hyperunite for liquidation. Over 12,000 BTC was sold in a single day, and activity suggests the whale may continue selling.
Prominent analyst Willy Woo explained why BTC’s growth feels slow this cycle: OG whales who bought at $10 or less are offloading huge amounts. “It takes $110k+ of new capital to absorb each BTC they sell,” Woo noted.
Meanwhile, funds are rotating into $ETH . Another whale sold 18,142 BTC ($2B) and converted most into ETH, buying 416K ETH in total, with 275.5K ETH ($1.3B) already staked. Even smaller whales are joining, with $76M in BTC used to open long ETH positions.
The sudden cascade caused widespread liquidations, but analysts remain optimistic. Alex Krüger believes BTC could rally once momentum clears and the price reclaims $113.5K–$114K. Vijay Boyapati called this whale selling a healthy supply release, part of Bitcoin’s long-term monetization cycle.
📉 BTC currently trades around $112.7K, with RSI signaling oversold levels — but no clear reversal yet.
