SEC Chairman Paul Atkins reveals important policy updates regarding cryptocurrencies.
In his keynote address, Paul Atkins emphasized the urgent need for a "rational regulatory framework" to facilitate the transition of securities to blockchain. Furthermore, he criticized the past "regulation by enforcement" approach of the SEC and announced targeted recommendations for the issuance and custody of crypto assets, as well as trading of crypto assets.

Atkins promised to update outdated policies, stating: "We cannot encourage innovation while trying to fit a square peg into a round hole." He also noted that their newly formed Crypto Working Group aims to make policy development unified and make the U.S. a global crypto leader.
