Binnance Pizza: The Man Who Traded Bitcoin for two Pizzas

In the early days of cryptocurrency, before the world understood its potential, there was a man named Laszlo Hanyecz—an unassuming programmer with a big appetite and an even bigger belief in Bitcoin. It was May 22, 2010, and Laszlo was hungry—not just for pizza, but to prove that Bitcoin could be used in the real world.
“I’ll give 10,000 Bitcoins for two large pizzas,” he posted on a crypto forum. At the time, that Bitcoin was worth around $41. A user from the UK took him up on the offer and ordered him two pizzas from Papa John's. Laszlo got his meal, and the world got its first real-world crypto transaction. The day became known as Bitcoin Pizza Day.
But this is where the story gets a modern twist.
Years later, as the crypto world exploded and exchanges like Binance rose to power, a new pizza joint emerged in the blockchain community. They called it “Binnance Pizza”—a tongue-in-cheek tribute to Laszlo’s legendary meal. Unlike any other pizzeria, Binnance Pizza only accepted crypto, and every pizza came with a QR code to tip the chef in Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Dogecoin.
The founder of Binnance Pizza was a mystery man known only by his handle: CryptoChef42.
Each May 22nd, Binnance Pizza hosts a global “BTC for a Slice” event. People from all over the world trade tiny fractions of Bitcoin for artisan pizzas .
And Laszlo? He never regretted the trade.
“That pizza was the most expensive meal I ever had,” he once said in an interview, smiling. “But also the most important.”

UnitedHealth Group’s stock dropped as much as 17% on Thursday and ended the day over 11% lower. This was the lowest the stock has been in five years and means it has fallen more than 50% in just the past month. The company is facing several negative news stories that are worrying investors.

The big drop on Thursday came after a Wall Street Journal report late Wednesday said UnitedHealth is under a criminal investigation for possible Medicare fraud. In response, UnitedHealth released a statement calling the report "deeply irresponsible" and said the investigation is only "supposed," not confirmed. The company also said it trusts the honesty of its Medicare Advantage program.

Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, UnitedHealth surprised investors by announcing that its former CEO, Stephen Hemsley, would take over again, replacing Andrew Witty, who had been CEO since 2021. This news caused the stock to drop nearly 20%. The company also pulled its financial forecast for 2025 when it made this leadership change.

As of May 15, 2025, Bitcoin (BTC) is trading at approximately $102,644, reflecting a modest decline of about 1.4% from the previous close.  The price has fluctuated between a low of $101,760 and a high of $104,168 during the day. 

This recent dip follows a period of strong performance, with BTC gaining 7% over the past 10 days.  However, the broader crypto market is experiencing a pullback, with major cryptocurrencies like XRP, Solana, and Ether seeing double-digit surges, while BTC's momentum appears to be fading. 

Despite this short-term retreat, Bitcoin remains above the $102,000 mark, supported by renewed ETF inflows, particularly from firms like BlackRock.  Investors are closely monitoring upcoming U.S. inflation data, which could influence expectations for potential rate cuts and impact crypto market dynamics. 

In the broader context, Bitcoin continues to be influenced by significant developments, such as the establishment of a U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, which underscores growing institutional and governmental interest in digital assets. 

Overall, while short-term volatility persists, the long-term outlook for Bitcoin remains positive, bolstered by increasing institutional adoption and strategic policy initiatives.

US saved $258 billion

The US government posted a $258 billion budget surplus in April, up 23% from the same month last year, driven by strong tax receipts and higher import duty collections. The surge came during the final month of the tax season, when revenue typically peaks. Net customs duties alone totaled $16 billion for the month, a $9 billion increase from the prior year, as steep tariffs on Chinese goods—some as high as 145%—and at least 10% tariffs on other imports boosted collections. On average, the US collected over $500 million per day in tariffs during April, although this is down from the $2 billion per day President Trump claimed previously. The surplus was also supported by $85 billion in deferred tax receipts from California and calendar effects that shifted some April expenses into earlier months. Let me share about one of my bitter experience with SCAM mining Websites. When i was beginner with cryptocurrency, my friend introduced me one of SCAM Website, It was called Autohashming.com. I signed up with my email and i started with Initial Contract of 10 USD. For this contract, they give me back 1.1 USD/ day for 10 days. Then i bought Starter Contract of 30 USD. At first, i can withdraw my profit daily and regularly. Then I became trusted and greedy, therefore i bought 300 USD Preparation Contract. A few days after buying this contrct, I can not withdraw my profit. All the withdrawal moneny entered into the panding stage.
I contacted the admin and he said that it was caused by the use of different browsers.
If i want to take my money back, i have to buy another 300 USD contract. Therefore, I bought another 300 USD contract by the money of my mining account😅. But it had no response . Admin asked me to filled the money only from one crypto exchange not from mining account.
At that time, I realized the situation of being cheated. I reported this event to Compnies House (UK). But nothing was happened.
Therefore, all beginners please becareful to such scam websites. They give you first regularly and try to get your trust. If you trusted and invested more, they will fly with your money.
