Karachi: A crypto currency trader was kidnapped in a police mobile and Rs 90 million was looted.
Manghopir police have registered a case under Section 365A34 of Kidnapping for ransom on the complaint of a crypto currency trader named Arsalan against four named, one unknown and five plainclothes police officers riding in a police mobile without a number plate. The investigation of the incident has been transferred to the Anti-Violent Crime Cell of the police.
According to the victim, Arsalan, he is a resident of North Karachi Sector Five-A-Four and is engaged in crypto currency business. He has an office in a private housing society in Manghopir. On December 25, at around 1:30 am, five plainclothes police officers riding in a police mobile entered the residential society and took me to the Sadar Passport Office after putting a chador on my face.
According to the plaintiff, the alleged police officers transferred $340,000 from my account to their various accounts at gunpoint using my mobile phone, reset my mobile phone and returned it to me, while also snatching Rs. 8,000 from my pocket. Later, they dumped me near the Quaid's shrine and fled, after which they reached home around 4 am.
