How to know if your soil is acidic or alkaline using items you already have at home? 🔍🌱

You can easily, quickly, and homemade discover the pH of the soil using baking soda or vinegar. Here's how to do it:

1. Acidic soil: 🌱
Take a sample of the soil and add a little baking soda with water.
➡️ If it bubbles or produces gas, your soil is acidic! 💥

2. Alkaline soil: 🌱
Mix a little of the soil with vinegar.
➡️ If there is fizzing or bubbles, your soil is alkaline! ✨

Earthquake in Piauí, Brazil

On the afternoon of this Monday (16), Piauí recorded its first earthquake of 2025. The seismic shock, with a magnitude of 2.3, had its epicenter near the municipality of Elesbão Veloso, according to the Brazilian Seismographic Network.

The last tremor in the state occurred in October 2024, in the city of Domingos Mourão. In recent days, other similar occurrences have also been recorded in different parts of the Northeast — three in Pernambuco and one in Ceará, all on Saturday (14).

Despite causing concern, these low-magnitude quakes are considered natural. They result from the release of accumulated tensions in the Earth's crust and generally do not pose significant risks.

The Desert Will Turn into Forest.

🌳 Saudi Arabia has already initiated an ambitious project to transform its deserts into green areas, with the goal of planting more than 10 billion trees in the coming decades.
This plan is part of the Saudi Green Initiative, launched in 2021, which aims to combat desertification, improve air quality, and restore environmental balance in the country.
Since the beginning of the project, more than 95 million trees and shrubs have been planted, and the target for 2030 is to reach 600 million trees planted and recover 8 million hectares of degraded land.
The project includes two main phases:
1- By 2030, focus on natural planting and recovery with native species adapted to arid climates.
2- After 2030, expansion of reforestation with advanced techniques to reach the goal of 10 billion trees.
In addition to improving the environment, the initiative also invests in modern irrigation and management technologies to ensure the survival of plants even in desert conditions.
🌍 This effort by Saudi Arabia is an example of how it is possible to invest in sustainability even in challenging regions.
