1. Historical Review
I am a Yi ethnic group. I moved to the United States. Whenever I mention my ethnicity, I find that many overseas intellectual elites (not to mention ordinary people) have little knowledge of my ethnic group, which always triggers a series of strange questions, as if I came from a land of ignorant barbarians. In fact, the history of the Yi ethnic group is as old as Chinese civilization. It was the most important ethnic group among the "Southwest Yi" tribes in the pre-Qin period. Later, it was called "Yi people" and "Luolu" by the Han people. It was not until the 1950s that Mao Zedong changed "Yi" to "Yi" when he first met with Yi representatives in Beijing. He believed that the former had one bow per person and were barbaric; the latter lived in stilt houses under the big roof of the house, had rice and silk, and lived in stilt houses, which symbolized that they had no worries about food and clothing and were prosperous. Since then, people have called us "Yi people", but it took my elders and fellow villagers a long time to recognize and get used to this name from outsiders, because our ethnic group still uses the ancient self-names "Nuosu" and "Niesu".

The various Yi groups in Liangshan, including the Ahou family branch, which is a family, belong to the ancient Hou lineage of Liangshan. According to the Yi genealogy, the Yi people of Liangshan are divided into two main bloodline systems: the ancient Hou and the Qu Nie, which have given rise to the hundreds of family branches we see today. The Ahou belong to the ancient Hou system and split into independent branches after the generation of Mizhe. Mizhe had seven sons, among which only a little over ten descendants of Mizhe Puso remain today. The descendants of Mizhe Ahe became the 'cheap black Yi,' those of Mizhe Shetie became the white Yi, and the descendants of Mizhe Shupo and Mizhe Luopu became Han Chinese. The descendants of Mizhe Heju and Mizhe Ziqu became the renowned Ahou black Yi of Liangshan.

The main text: In 2007, I actively thought about what truth is. At that time, I met Mrs. Qiu at Harvard University, along with a group of outstanding individuals from Harvard, MIT, and Lincoln Laboratory. I was profoundly and lastingly influenced by them, especially Mrs. Qiu. Mrs. Qiu was excellent; later, she trained her child to become a young professor at Harvard Medical School and established a laboratory named after her surname. Moreover, she deliberately avoided her father's influence, having a different surname from her father's English surname for the laboratory. Inspired by this group of excellent individuals, I will now talk about my understanding of the concept of truth.
