I have begrudging respect for early-to-the-game ETH haters/SOL glazers like @ceterispar1bus . They put their money where their mouths were and made a ton of profit. Zero respect for bandwagon-hoppers who are late to the Ethereum FUD/bullying-train and just farming clout from it.
LOL very funny to me how Steil is painting this bill as a 'you don't need lawyers thing.' Every cryptolawyer I know is salivating that this means they will make fortunes for as long as they want to keep working. It's incredibly complex and even more complex rules/regs will be layered on top of it pursuant to delegated authority.
If Circle signs an M&A deal with Ripple I will personally go to the FTC and DoJ during antitrust review and raise absolute hell. I was an M&A lawyer in my past life--this deal can and must be killed and must not happen.
many of us sounded the warnings about centralized stables on decentralized autonomous systems for years, even some things like Terra that turned out terrible were motived by the desire to break centralized stable dominance
now look...it would be a *fiasco* if Ripple acquires influence over the Ethereum network via USDC...this deal should be stopped in any way possible...
