Out of fear of the new taxes on remittances, the sending of money in crypto-assets continues to grow in Mexico.
Between 2% and 3% of the remittance flow that Mexico currently captures arrives in the country via crypto-assets, estimated the spokesperson for the instant cryptocurrency exchange service platform, Change Now, Pauline Shangett.
In 2024, Mexico received more than 64 billion dollars in remittances. Of that total, it is estimated that between 800 million and 1.2 billion dollars were sent through blockchain solutions or platforms such as ChangeNOW, Bitso, or Paxful.
