ChatGPT giving me feedback about my work and life: [“Hospitality” and “Deep Tech” May Clash While diversification is philosophically justified by ergodicity, the juxtaposition of cryptographic infrastructure and coffee shops might raise questions about strategic coherence—unless better narrative bridges are built.]
Ethrex design principles: - Ensure effortless setup and execution across all target environments. - Be vertically integrated. Have the minimal amount of dependencies. - Be structured in a way that makes it easy to build on top of it, i.e rollups, vms, etc. - Have a simple type system. Avoid having generics leaking all over the codebase. - Have few abstractions. Do not generalize until you absolutely need it. Repeating code two or three times can be fine. - Prioritize code readability and maintainability over premature optimizations. - Avoid concurrency split all over the codebase. - Concurrency adds complexity. Only use where strictly necessary.
We just had a call with the top executives of one of the world’s largest financial institutions. They reached out to learn about Ethereum, Layer 2s, and Ethrex, exploring how Ethereum can be used to build payment systems in the developing world. I'm flying to meet them in June to close a deal. Wish us luck, hopefully by the end of the year we will be able to show many of the things we are doing behind close doors.
Don’t take investors, particularly as leads, asking to get their tokens unlocked at TGE or investors asking you to use a particular market maker. They will offer you high valuations in exchange for things like no vesting schedule or doing part of the airdrop to their own wallets.
These investors ask for this since they can find ways to pump the price and dump it at launch. Most of them do it while living in places like Dubai.
I lost almost all the patience and respect I had with a relevant part of the crypto VC industry. It’s not that they don’t know. They know and they don’t want others to know so they try to shut up anybody speaking.
For god sake can somebody explain me what the hell is an IP Layer 1 blockchain and why this can't be built in @ethereum @solana @SuiNetwork or @Aptos? Why isn't this just a simple smart contract?
My biggest advice to people in their 20s and early 30s is to accept that most people will not believe in you, and to learn to fall in love with the pain of rejection. Crypto, in theory, should be a contrarian bet against traditional finance, an industry that builds resilience and character in its founders. But because crypto has mostly been driven by narrative rather than revenue until recently, being a founder often meant riding waves of hype instead of standing firm in independent conviction.
My second piece of advice is simple: lift weights. It strengthens not just your body but your discipline and mental resilience. Weights or calisthenics teach consistency, focus, and the ability to push through discomfort, all of which compound over time.
