💥 July 26 ko Bengaluru Police ne arrest kiya Rahul Agarwal ko — ek 30 saal ka software engineer jo CoinDCX mein kaam karta tha — ₹379 crore (around $44M) ke crypto theft case mein. Rahul ne CoinDCX mein 2+ saal tak kaam kiya tha.
Yeh scam start hua tha July 19 ko subah 2:37 baje, ek chhoti si test transfer se — sirf 1 USDT. Uske baad, hackers ne Rahul ke company-issued laptop se login credentials chura liye aur same din subah tak ₹379 crore ke tokens 6 alag-alag wallets mein transfer kar diye.
Investigation mein pata chala hai ki Rahul WhatsApp pe kuch unknown clients ke liye freelance kaam kar raha tha — instructions ek German number se aayi thi. Usne ₹15 lakh (~$17K) ka payment receive karna bhi admit kiya. Authorities ka kehna hai ki malware ke through uska laptop compromise hua.
CoinDCX ke parent company, Neblio Technologies, ne confirm kiya hai ki kisi bhi customer ka fund loss nahi hua — kyunki jo wallet hack hua tha, woh user holdings se alag tha. Exchange ne ab tak ₹90 crore (up to $11M) ka bounty announce kiya hai — jo bhi stolen funds ka trace dene mein help karega, uske liye reward.
🔐 Kya Seekhna Chahiye? Security experts keh rahe hain ki yeh ek aur example hai jahan highly privileged employees ko target karke, unke system access ka misuse kiya gaya — mainly through social engineering.
Reddit pe ek user ne sahi bola:
“Agar aisa hai toh... Rahul villain nahi, victim hai. Credential theft real hai — aur access control systems mein kaafi loopholes bhi.”
Neblio ke ek senior official ne is incident ko describe kiya “a sophisticated social engineering attack” ke form mein — aur kaha CoinDCX investigation mein poora cooperation de raha hai.
Itna bada scam hone ke baad, crypto exchanges ki security standards — especially India jaise emerging markets mein — phir se question ke niche aa gaye hain. Ho sakta hai regulators is incident ko seriously lein.

As I said, I have closed my $BTC short position at no profit, no loss. Right now, $BTC is not looking bearish, but be careful — don’t take aggressive long positions because there’s a CME gap below. I plan to short again between 122k and 124k. Stay calm and confident — luck will be with you.
$BTC is in a no-trade zone right now. You can sell (short) if the price goes above this zone and buy if it goes below. But don’t trade while it stays in the middle.
