BNB completed its 30th quarterly burn, destroying over 1.63 million BNB worth approximately $1.16 billion.
The BNB Foundation announced today the completion of the 30th quarterly BNB token burn for the BNB Chain. A total of 1,634,200.95 BNB tokens were burned, valued at approximately $1.16 billion at the time of the burn.Of this total, 1,524,200.95 BNB were automatically destroyed, while 110,000 were burned as part of the Pioneer Burn program. To facilitate a smooth BNB integration, validators on the BNB Beacon Chain previously left a total of 110,000 BNB staked on the Beacon Chain. With the Beacon Chain's suspension, this staked BNB was permanently removed from circulation and cannot be recovered. These stakes were considered to have entered the Pioneer Burn and were destroyed. Validators will receive compensation through the Pioneer Burn program.
