Working hours Sanitation workers work long hours and it is still physical work. Many sanitation workers are in their 50s and 60s. They get up early and stay up late, sleep little, and work long hours. They almost have to work for more than ten hours. I start cleaning at five o'clock in the morning, work until noon, take a short break, and then start working in the afternoon and into the evening. Work at least eight hours a day, every day, every day. Most of their wages are only between 1,000 and 3,000, and some have to raise children and elderly people. As a result, many sanitation workers only eat white steamed buns to satisfy their hunger and dare not go to the hospital when they are sick or injured.
