GRATZ — Means Congratulations
IDOLO — Also called Idol. This is someone you look up to or admire. E.g Thank you my Idolo.
DEGEN — A degen is someone who buys into an asset without proper research… They might cash out or get rekt.
FLIP/FLIPPING— An event where one cryptocurrency goes above the other or one cryptocurrency becomes more valuable than the other. E.g OP Flipped AVAX in daily volume
FOMO — Fear Of Missing Out…
JOMO — Joy of missing out; funny yeah? These crypto investors/traders find joy in missing out on a crashing coin or trade…
APE in/out — This is an event where someone buys/invests in an asset, sometimes due to FOMO, limited knowledge of the asset or hype.
AIRDROP— This is given by projects (esp. crypto projects) to their users as compensation for an activity… It could be free NFTs, tokens or SBTs. This is mostly used to create some awareness of the project.
SBT — Soul-Bound Tokens; they represent a person’s digital Identity on the blockchain. They are non-transferable.
POAP — Proof of Attendance Protocol;
ATH — All-Time High… The highest price of an asset so far.
ATL — All-Time low… The lowest price of an asset so far.
ALPHA— This is valuable information about an asset… It could be when to Ape in, return on investment, or a confirmed airdrop.
APR — Annual Percentage Rate; in simple terms, it means the amount of interest you’ll be charged when you borrow assets.
APY — Annual Percentage Yield; it’s the amount of interest earned on an actual investment, measured annually.
LEGEND— This term is mostly used in the web3/crypto space to represent someone who is making a huge impact in an ecosystem or project… Sometimes can also be a way of teasing people in the space.
REKT — This is a term used when someone has suffered a loss.
SHA-256 — Secure Hashing Algorithm 256 bit… Used for cryptographic security.
SER — This is just a misspelling of “Sir” intentionally. E.g GM Ser or Yes Ser
