The cryptocurrency Cardano (ADA) was created by Charles Hoskinson, one of the co-founders of Ethereum. He left the Ethereum team due to disagreements with Vitalik Buterin regarding the future of the project and its commercialization.

Cardano was launched in 2017 and is the result of a scientific approach to blockchain development. Hoskinson and his team from IOHK (Input Output Hong Kong) use peer-reviewed research and mathematically verified algorithms to create a more secure and scalable platform.

The Cardano roadmap consists of five phases: Byron, Shelley, Goguen, Basho, and Voltaire. Each phase focuses on a specific task to ultimately make Cardano a fully decentralized and self-sustaining ecosystem.

The future of Cardano is tied to further decentralization, scaling, and expanding functionality, which will allow it to secure a strong place among leading blockchain platforms.
