📅 September 6 | India – United States

The global crypto map has just been redrawn: according to the Global Crypto Adoption Index 2025, published this week, India and the United States top the list of countries that are most integrating digital assets into their economies. The most surprising thing: the study reveals that Bitcoin and stablecoins are the absolute protagonists, displacing a good portion of the alternative tokens that dominated previous cycles.

📖 The data shows a clear phenomenon: while in India adoption is focused on the massive use of stablecoins as a tool for payments, savings, and remittances, in the United States the trend points to a growing institutional use of Bitcoin as a reserve asset and hedge against inflation.

The adoption index measures factors such as on-chain transactions, retail participation, exchange volume, and institutional presence. By 2025, India climbed to first place, driven by millions of users using stablecoins to move outside the traditional banking system and access decentralized lending and savings platforms.

Meanwhile, the United States consolidated its second position thanks to the expansion of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, the entry of large corporations into the market, and the increase in retail trading on regulated platforms.

The key fact: Bitcoin and stablecoins accounted for the majority of the activity, leaving altcoins and memecoins in a secondary role. This confirms that the global market is moving toward a strategic duality: Bitcoin as “digital gold” and stablecoins as a “digital dollar,” each fulfilling complementary functions in the new economy.

The contrast with other countries is evident. Regions such as Latin America and Africa, which historically showed high stablecoin penetration, are now losing ground to India, whose stablecoin transaction volume exceeded $300 billion so far this year.

Topic Opinion:

India demonstrates that utility in payments and remittances can change entire economies, while the US confirms that institutional investment is here to stay.

💬 Are you surprised that India surpasses the US in crypto adoption this year?
