#NMR MicroStrategy, led by Michael Saylor, fails to join the S&P 500 index.

MicroStrategy (MSTR), which is led by Michael Saylor, failed to join the S&P 500 index on Friday, despite hopes for inclusion after reporting one of its strongest quarters in history and meeting all the criteria.

The shares of the largest Bitcoin holder dropped by about 3% after the market closed, wiping out all gains from Friday. The inclusion was expected to be a significant achievement for the company and the sector as a whole, as it would have provided millions of investors and portfolio managers the opportunity to get exposure to the company, potentially raising its stock prices.
