Solana reaches 100,000 transactions/second in testing
The Solana network has achieved a significant milestone by processing over 100,000 transactions per second (#TPS ) in an on-chain test on Sunday. Although this is just a test, the result has demonstrated the incredible scalability potential of the network.
Test results and potential
An anonymous validator of #solana reached a peak of 104,529 TPS. This level is more than 25 times higher than Solana's usual throughput and even surpasses Visa's record (65,000 TPS).
Although the blocks in this test primarily contained "no-op" transactions (which do not require complex computation), the test operator believes that with more efficient programs and token standards, the network could actually handle around 100,000 transactions per second.
Importance for Solana and the market
Kyle Samani, Managing Partner of Multicoin Capital, stated that this result proves Solana is ready to support web-scale applications, far exceeding most other blockchains.
Mert Mumtax, CEO of Helius Labs, emphasized that high throughput will allow more financial activities, oracle updates, and market-making to occur on-chain, while reducing costs for users.
For developers, this opens up a completely new design space for applications that require many transactions.
This test result reaffirms Solana's position as a potential infrastructure for global on-chain markets, with significant improvements likely to be rolled out in the coming months. #anhbacong
