Regulatory Initiatives in DeFi
Proponents of DeFi (including the DeFi Education Fund and a16z Crypto) have approached the SEC with a proposal to introduce a "safe harbor" for certain DeFi applications — in particular, for neutral and non-custodial interfaces — to exempt them from mandatory registration as brokers.
