Howells threw the drive away at a landfill site in Newport, Wales, and has since campaigned tirelessly for permission to excavate the area. He even proposed a profit-sharing agreement with local authorities, but all offers were rejected. Newport officials deemed the plan impractical, citing environmental and legal concerns.
