This Wednesday, Ibovespa rose 1.04%, nearing 135 thousand points — a level not seen since July. This increase was driven by positive corporate results, such as those from Itaú and RD Saúde, which surged more than 18% after presenting a very positive balance sheet. The consumption index (ICON) led the gains, growing 3.25%, reflecting optimism about the internal scenario.
In the international scenario, the S&P 500 also rose 0.73%, driven by positive results and expectations of interest rate cuts in the U.S. The forecast of a slowdown in the American economy has increased the appetite for assets in emerging countries like Brazil. Despite this, data from B3 shows that in the first days of August, there is still a net outflow of foreign capital from the Brazilian market, totaling R$ 433 million.
Another highlight of the day was Meta's announcement, the owner of WhatsApp, about the ban of 6.8 million accounts suspected of financial fraud, including cryptocurrency scams. The company identified criminal organizations, mainly from Asia, that use artificial intelligence and deepfakes to deceive victims with promises of guaranteed returns.
In Brazil, the CNJ launched CriptoJud, an unprecedented system that allows tracking and blocking cryptocurrencies of debtors directly at exchanges. The tool is considered the 'SisbaJud of cryptocurrencies' and will accelerate the digital seizure process, with full integration into the judiciary. According to Minister Luís Roberto Barroso, this innovation brings more efficiency, security, and transparency to the Brazilian judicial system.
And at Blockchain Rio 2025, Senator Carlos Portinho advocated for the use of blockchain in electronic voting machines, citing Drex (the Central Bank's digital currency) as an example of innovation. He believes the country should debate the advancement of technology in the public sector without taboos and even proposed discussing a strategic reserve of bitcoin in Brazil, with a public hearing scheduled for August 20.
