On August 5th, Binance Alpha will launch the project Towns Protocol (Towns)
1⃣ Introduction: Towns Protocol is an open-source, decentralized real-time messaging platform built on blockchain technology, aimed at empowering communities to create, manage, and own their own digital communication spaces. It operates on an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible Layer 2 chain (specifically the Base network), combining decentralized off-chain flow nodes and smart contracts. Towns Protocol has raised over $46 million through multiple rounds of financing, including a $25.5 million Series A round led by a16z Crypto in 2023, as well as a $10 million Series B round in April 2025, with participants including Coinbase Ventures, Benchmark, and Framework Ventures.
