#islamicThe perfect saint whose funeral was attended by angels — Hazrat Habib Ajmi
In the outskirts of Baghdad, there lived a great saint of Allah, Hazrat Habib Ajmi (may Allah have mercy on him). He is counted among the early saints and Sufis. He was once a wealthy trader, but a moment came that completely changed his life.
One day, you went to the door of a widow to collect a debt. That woman was extremely poor and had nothing at all. She humbly said: "For the sake of Allah, please grant me a delay; I have nothing." But you were being hard-hearted at that moment and immediately began to demand the money.
At that moment, a pious person passed by. He saw this scene and said to you: "O Habib! Do you not know that on the Day of Judgment, Allah will hold His servants accountable for their deeds?" Hearing this, the fear of Allah awakened in your heart. It had such an effect on your heart that right there, you forgave the debt and sincerely repented before Allah. From that day on, you abandoned worldly affairs and resolved to spend your entire life in the pleasure and worship of Allah.
Hazrat Habib Ajmi was weak in the Arabic language; when he recited the Holy Quran, he read it with broken words. One day, Hazrat Hasan Basri heard him and said: "Recite the Quran correctly!" That night, Hazrat Hasan Basri saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in a dream. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "O Hasan! Do not stop Habib; in whatever manner he recites the Quran, the angels are pleased to listen to his recitation."
When Hazrat Habib Ajmi passed away, people witnessed an extraordinary luminous scene. Dark clouds covered the sky, fragrance spread, and it seemed as though heavenly creatures were participating in his funeral. People testified that they felt an extraordinary spiritual state at his funeral, indicating that he was not an ordinary human but a chosen servant of Allah.
