XRP's Volume Mystery: Ripple's Schwartz Speaks Out

In a recent interview, Ripple's Chief Technology Officer, David Schwartz, addressed the seemingly low transaction volumes on the XRPL compared to other leading blockchains. Schwartz attributed the lower volumes to the nature of the network's use case, emphasizing that XRP's focus on cross-border payments rather than smart contracts contributes to this perception.

He explained that the high volumes on Bitcoin and Ethereum, for instance, are a result of their attraction to developers building diverse applications. Ripple's strategy, on the other side, has been to target financial institutions for remittances and payments.

Schwartz also touched on the price of XRP, acknowledging the risk of the coin dropping below the $3 mark. He remains optimistic, however, about the long-term prospects, emphasizing Ripple's focus on building partnerships and the network's scalability.
