🚨 What Really Happened: The $100 Million Crypto Scam
In December 2021, Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) began investigating at least 11 fraudulent mobile investment apps (e.g. MCX, HFC, HTFOX, OKIMINI) used by Pakistanis. These apps suddenly stopped working and had collectively defrauded users of about USD 100 million, according to FIA reports
The FIA sent notices to Binance, requesting details on how these apps were linked to its platform and issued “Order of Attendance” to Binance Pakistan’s GM for explanation
So, the loss was due to scams linked with those apps, not activities or losses directly associated with the Pakistan Crypto Council.
