#CryptoScamSurge
As the crypto market hits new all-time highs, scammers are becoming more active, trying to take advantage of the hype and excitement. One recent example involves fake XRP giveaway scams on YouTube.
Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple (the company behind XRP), has warned that scammers are impersonating Ripple’s official accounts and tricking people with promises of free XRP — usually asking users to send some crypto first to “verify,” which is a classic scam.
These scams are becoming more advanced and convincing, which is dangerous because:
They can damage trust in real crypto companies and projects.
They might cause platforms like YouTube to introduce stricter rules, which could hurt legit content creators who aren't doing anything wrong.
