Former BlackRock Exec Joins Ethereum Treasury Firm SharpLink as Co-CEO
SharpLink Gaming, an Ethereum treasury firm holding $1.3 billion in ETH, has appointed Joseph Chalom, former BlackRock managing director, as its new co-CEO. Chalom previously led BlackRock’s digital asset initiatives, including partnerships with Coinbase, Circle, and Anchorage Digital, and played a key role in launching BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) and Ethereum ETF (ETHA).
Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, who chairs SharpLink, praised Chalom’s contributions to institutional crypto adoption. The appointment comes as BitMine Immersion overtakes SharpLink as the largest ETH treasury firm, holding over $1.5 billion in Ethereum. Meanwhile, BlackRock’s Ethereum ETF surpassed $10 billion in assets under management (AUM) this week.
