Day 29 – Crypto Saved Lives During War
Fact:
During the 2022 Russia–Ukraine war, Ukraine received over $100 million in crypto donations in just a few weeks, faster and more transparent than traditional aid.
Why it matters:
When borders closed and banks failed, blockchain didn’t. Crypto became a lifeline for civilians, NGOs, and even military support, in real time.
Historic First:
Ukraine was the first country to openly post wallet addresses on Twitter for global donations. No intermediaries. No delay.
When banks shut down during the Ukraine war, crypto stepped up.
Over $100M in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and more… all donated from across the world in minutes.
This was blockchain’s first real-world humanitarian test — and it passed.
