SpaceX unexpectedly transferred 1,308 BTC to a new wallet after 3 years of silence
On July 22, 2025, SpaceX's Bitcoin wallet – the aerospace company of Elon Musk – unexpectedly transferred 1,308 $BTC (approximately 153 million USD) to a new wallet after more than 3 years of "hibernation". This is the first time SpaceX has executed an on-chain transaction since June 2022, when the company sold a large amount of BTC.
The unexpected move comes as Bitcoin hits a new peak
#SpaceX began accumulating Bitcoin in early 2021, at one point holding over 28,000 BTC, but sold off significantly in June 2022. Currently, the company is holding 6,977 BTC (approximately 815 million USD).
Although there hasn't been an official announcement, analysts believe this could be a profit-taking move as the price of Bitcoin has just surpassed 123,000 USD, setting a new ATH. The BTC SpaceX is holding is currently worth nearly 1 billion USD, yielding enormous profits. Many speculate this could be the first step in a financial restructuring or preparation for OTC transactions.
While SpaceX is "stirring," sibling company Tesla still holds 11,509 BTC (over 1.3 billion USD) and has not conducted any new transactions. However, many observers predict Tesla may be the next name to "wake up" if the market continues to rise. The price of Bitcoin is currently not very volatile, hovering around 118,000 USD. Recently, a whale holding over 80,000 BTC for 14 years also fully cashed out, bringing in 9.6 billion USD. #anhbacong
