Do they know things we don't? We don't know what is happening behind the scenes that drives them to do this.
While many see Bitcoin as having peaked, major players are moving with unprecedented confidence. As others exit, they are entering strongly.
In a striking move, MicroStrategy, led by Michael Saylor, announced the purchase of additional amounts of Bitcoin despite the price rising to $118,000. At the same time, reports emerged confirming that Trump Media & Technology Group, under current U.S. President Donald Trump, had purchased large amounts of the digital currency.
So why these sudden moves at the market peak? Do they know what we, as individual investors, do not know?
MicroStrategy: Uninterrupted continuation.
In the week ending July 20, 2025, Strategy announced the purchase of 6,220 Bitcoins worth $739.8 million, at an average price of about $118,940/BTC. This brought their total holdings to 607,770 BTC, with a total value of approximately $71.4 billion. Prior to that, between July 7-13, the company acquired about 4,225 Bitcoins for $472.5 million at an average price of $111,827.
Trump injects $2 billion into Bitcoin.
On July 21, 2025, Trump Media, under President Trump, announced a $2 billion investment in Bitcoin and related securities, representing two-thirds of the available liquidity ($3 billion). They also allocated an additional $300 million to strengthen their position in Bitcoin-related options.
What might they know that we do not know?
Buying these massive amounts at very high levels leads us to think that one of the main possible reasons driving them to do so is:
*They have early signals of supportive U.S. regulations (such as Trump's signing of the Genius Act and the establishment of a government Bitcoin reserve strategy).
*They have information about the expansion of major institutions adopting Bitcoin to become an official part of their reserves. These companies see Bitcoin as an alternative to gold and the dollar as a store of value.
It cannot be printed or inflated, and it has a limited supply (only 21 million).
*They are consciously moving to eliminate reliance on traditional liquidity, preparing for a new digital era in reserves.
*The disposal of the weak dollar The rising U.S. debt and budget deficit is driving large investors to dispose of the dollar. Bitcoin is the most suitable option for them, compared to gold or the euro.
