A U.S. Congressman has warned that the GENIUS bill is a 'Trojan horse' for CBDCs.

According to reports, U.S. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has warned about the GENIUS stablecoin bill, which is seen as leaving a backdoor for central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). Greene emphasized that the regulation of stablecoins in the bill essentially paves the way for CBDCs. The Federal Reserve has been pushing for the development of CBDCs, which will usher in a new era of digital society and currency. Critics argue that the line between CBDCs and stablecoins is unclear. Bitcoin advocate Justin Bechler pointed out that the GENIUS bill forces stablecoins to follow the regulatory framework of CBDCs. Saifedean Ammous, author of The Bitcoin Standard, argues that the dollar exists as a form of central bank digital currency regardless of its manifestation. Jean Rausis from the Smardex platform stated that controlling stablecoins is equivalent to controlling financial transactions.
