On July 18, former U.S. President Donald Trump filed a $10 billion defamation lawsuit in Miami federal court against the Wall Street Journal, its parent companies, Rupert Murdoch, and others. The suit alleges a report falsely linked Trump to a 2003 birthday greeting for Jeffrey Epstein that included a sexually suggestive drawing and a reference to shared secrets. Trump claims the article caused severe financial and reputational damage. The defendants include Dow Jones, News Corp, CEO Robert Thomson, and two reporters.
